Fourth Grade News - Dec.17-21, almost Winter Break...

Well, here we are just one fine week away from winter break. This is the "finish it up" week. We will have a spelling/vocabulary test on Friday. There will be some math homework this week, and the NATIVE AMERICAN PROJECTS ARE DUE THURSDAY!!!

We have started a new math unit - Chapter 5 is all about telling time, reading time tables, and elapsed time. We are starting this unit now and will finish it up during our first FULL week back in January.

The students are preparing for a "POW WOW". which will be held on Friday morning. The students will share their projects and have the chance to wear the moccasins, necklaces, and headdresses that they've made. We may even have some traditional Native Amnerican treats.

HOMEWORK AND IMPORTANT STUFF...

Spelling and Vocabulary - Unit 12 for Orange, Unit7 for Green - tests are Friday.

Math - please check student planners. I'm planning to assign 5.2 due Thurs.

Social Studies - Bring in a PLAIN, solid-color t-shirt for Wednesday. This can be an old shirt - as we are going to paint and decorate it with Native American designs. It will be part of our "Pow Wow" costume.

Happy Chanukah!

We are having a bit of an unusual week. The Chanukah carnival was FANTASTIC! Thank you to all of the student council members for all of their hard work. We have been rehearsing for our Chanukah play, working on our moccasins, learning more about the Adena, Hopewell, and Fort Ancient Native Americans, learned how to balance equations, made silly Chanukah hats, the choir will sing at the Statehouse tomorrow (Thursday), and will have spelling/vocabulary tests on Friday. OH - KEEP WORKING ON THE TRIO OF NATIVE AMERICAN PROJECTS. These are due on DEC. 20!

Homework:
Study your spelling and vocabulary words - Unit 10 for Orange group, Unit 5 for Green Group.

Work on your trio of Native American projects.

Have fun celebrating Chanukah!
